mlp9090
Pretty new to the whole osx86 deal, but I've covered enough ground so far to have working install, wireless, and video. My final roadblock is audio... So here's the details of my issue: The tutorial I've mainly followed is HERE, I've done everything listed there to get OS X up and running, none of the otherwise 'optional' post-install items. While I mentioned that I have done wireless and video, I'm currently working off a new fresh install, attempting to get my audio going first before the rest that I know already works. Comp: Hp Pavilion Elite m9150f Bios: v5.17 Modded (Hp Pavilion Elite m9250f) Install: iatkos 5vi Mobo: Asus IPIBL-LB (Benicia) Mobo Chipset: Intel Bearlake G33 Mobo Version: Motherboard Version 1.01 Audio Adapter: Realtek ALC888/1200 @ Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-2] (integrated? its not in a pci slot or anything that's for sure...) (I think that should sum up what matter for discussion, if there's anything else that'd be helpful from Everest simple report just ask) So far I've tried the following methods: A. I got a copy of "AppleHDAPatcherv1.20" and downloaded all of the Realtek 888 linux codec dumps from the http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/realtek/ website. Dragged each one onto the icon, entered pass, install ok, quit, then the next file. Once all had been dropped and processed I rebooted. No audio in system info or system prefs. I then realized that maybe I should only try one dump file at a time on the patcher then restart and see what happens. Did that, paying close attention the results window this time, seeing that it writes to the same file each time, clears my kextcache, and does premissions. Thus I figure it was probably a bad idea to do them all like I did. So I try one only, restart, and still no audio in sys info or sys prefs. Went back and tried individual files thereafter, only to still get no audio every time. The only difference I noticed really was sometimes the patchers results would say it saw my sp/dif out only, but nothing more, and nothing about sp/dif was returned in sys info that I saw. I then remembered reading something about a HDAenabler, looked the kext up, downloaded, installed with b7, used premissions button, and tagged cache, restarted, still nothing. B. Attempted skippyretard's 888 guide (here). I first installed the ALC888Audio.pkg and restarted. Then the AzaliaAudio.pkg and restarted. Checked system info and system preferences...still no audio of any kind listed anywhere. C. Tried various ALC888.kexts from forum/net searching, none seemed to work, granted I had tried these after my other failed attempts so maybe file conflicts? This seems unlikely though really... (And yes, audio worked fine prior to delving into OSx86 world, so I'm certain its not some kind of hardware failure deal...) So, InsanelyMac Forum, is there anything you can do to assit me to audio victory? I've read a little about doing your own personal patching of AppleHDA.kext and skimmed the Pin Config Guide, but from what I understand do I really need to be getting into that territory for my audio to work? This is where my noob-ness is a factor, I'm just not sure what else to try and really would like to know if anyone more experienced has any input on what methods I should go about next in trying to get my audio to work. If I really do need to patch my own HDA and config my own pins then so be it I suppose (anything for OS X's UI ), but I need to understand what to do next.
