CheetinCheetah Posted May 9, 2006 Share Posted May 9, 2006 Basically, here's how everything went before I gave up and came to this forum Successful install and launch of Mac OS X 10.4.1. Found out that Safari could only last a few minutes (sometimes seconds) and then crash. Installers (such as MSN Messenger or those packaged using VISE installer) wouldn't launch and disappear from the dock the minute it gets launched. iTunes, when clicked, bounces once on the dock and then stops, refusing to launch as well. I've tried the Maxxuus patch. Followed the instructions, especially one option where I agreed to have a backup copy of an application (i think??) to switch between SSE2 and SSE3. Installers now run fine, Safari doesn't crash anymore. It's the iTunes. It still doesn't launch when it (or any MP3 files) are double clicked. Bounces once and that's it. Same with OSXvnc. Anyone know what's happening? And am I missing something? node64 Posted May 30, 2006 Share Posted May 30, 2006 You would probibly get on better if u installed 10.4.4 or above as alot has imporved since the 10.4.1 days.
