jdazzle34 Posted June 11, 2009 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Looked around and didn't seem like anyone else was having this problem. I have two IDE DVD-RW's in my system, and they work fine in Windows. The cabling is set up properly, but OSX only picks up on the master drive [a TSST]. The other [a Plextor 740a] doesn't show up anywhere, not even in Disk Utility. I'm on a gigabyte ga-965p-s3 board, not sure if that has anything to do with it. If anyone's got ideas, i'd love to hear 'em. TechWiz Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 try reinstalling OS X with different kexts for the motherboard. Seems to me that your IDE Controller is not being registered correctly. Also try various IDE controller fixes. If reinstalling doesn't seem to be a viable method you can always manually install the packages from the install disc and do some trial and error that way.
