I got the install to work fine on my D945GCLF board. Everything is as it should be... after the first reboot from the install I was in the OS and testing... I then updated my ideneb 1.4 install to 10.5.7 (using the idened updater)... then after the reboot it did not boot from the HDD went down through the boot devices and stopped at the ethernet? I don't believe the update cause this... because my 1st try on installing it did this on the stock 10.5.6 install

Any ideas here... is it because I have the drive formatted to the GUID partition... should it be a Master Boot Record?

Sorry for the newbie question... I am so close here... just need to fix this last hiccup and I am good to go.. thanks!

Also I used the 9.2.0 Speedstep Kernel ... should I try another? 9.5.0 Voodoo? Thought this info would help..

I also was told to run the following command at the boot prompt:

-v rd

but I don't even get that far... it just wont boot...

Use 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel. It doesn't matter if it's GUID or MBR. But I use GUID if I do not intend to install WIndows on my Hard Disk (MBR is for windows). After installation, boot with the install DVD inserted then press F8(boot options). type rd=disk0s2. this means that it would boot the hard disk, not the install DVD.

*the reason why you will put the install DVD even if you will boot with the hard disk is because the installed mac os x has no proper bootloader yet.

Then when you have booted already, launch Osx86 tools. Click the "Install EFI/Run FDisk"

Disk to Use: Leopard/Macintosh HD (or whichever your root partition is, where you installed mac os x)

EFI to Install: Chameleon EFI

Click "Install EFI"

REBOOT AND ENJOY.

I will try what you said if I have to reformat... I got it all to run fine when I downloaded chameleon, but I am now having issues when upgrading to 10.5.6... see this post:
