652
Hi, I downloaded "iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final" from The Pirate Bay. It installed but after I did the restart it boots looking like a Mac; boots with the white/ grey background with the little apple in the middle & the little spinning wheel. Then a lite-blue screen appear & it looks like the HDD is constantly doing something but nothing happenes after that. I'm also pretty sure I didn't select the correct drivers as I've searched all over the place & online & couldn't find any hardware information about my computer. marian99us
go into verbose mode and report the findings here! for verbose mode: boot the computer and during the count down of the boot loader press any key to cancel, and then type "-v" without the quotes and press enter it is going to show you all the messeges and right before it crashes you can see what caused it! cheers! I need to start with cpus=1 always but I heard that running it with 2 cores is also possible. Any idea? SquidLord
This is a little hectic, I'm going to need a video camera to document all of this.................... i believe you only need the end result, though, look over the text for panic and deduce from there what caused it. Just last few lines before it says " kernel called panic " Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169908-ipc_osx86_10_5_6_universal_ppf5_final/#findComment-1173119 Share on other sites
652
Code flows down the screen none stop for hours there is no end & the computer doesn't seem to ever crash. As you said, "before it crashes". marian99us
I may be wrong! but this problem looks like your media is not consistent! I mean your disc is not burnt properly or has scratches! try burning the disk at lower bit rate! 652
marian99us, you are probably; right. I burnt the .ISO image twice once with Nero but I got an error verifying data. Also I have the Windows7 beta build 7100 installed on my desktop & I used the built-in image burner but I also got an error verifying data. I guess because my computer couldn't handle such a bulky operating system that many problems occur(errors). Anyway, I burnt it on another computer & successfully burnt & verified the disk. I installed it on my laptop, okay here is the new problem. After the install it boots then I get a message, Keyboard not detected, please plug in your keyboard before you may continue. Something like that.......... Any ideas? Oh, & I get this error when I remove the OSx86 DVD. "Boot: error" But it does start when I put the disk back in. Also, one more thing. The intro has no sound... Oh, & I'm a little worried that I might lose my dual boot now. Partition 1: VISTA Recovery 6BG Partition 2: Windows VISTA - Complete with loads of Crapware, L0l just had to mention that........... 22GB Partition 3: Windows XP PRO 22GB Partition 4: Windows7 22GB Partition 5: Linux - Fedora 10 22GB Partition 6: Linux -SWAP 2.4GB Partition 7: Mac Partition (J) 55.4GB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169908-ipc_osx86_10_5_6_universal_ppf5_final/#findComment-1178675 Share on other sites
testpilot
After the install it boots then I get a message, Keyboard not detected, please plug in your keyboard before you may continue. Something like that.......... Any ideas? Look in patches/fixes etc... for PS2 support (has two items: keyboard & Mouse) after putting them in (via installer) I got everything to work---keyboard/mouse/trackpad... cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169908-ipc_osx86_10_5_6_universal_ppf5_final/#findComment-1178829 Share on other sites
652
Great......... It worked, now a few more problems, I had windows xp, vista, Win7, & Fedora on other partitions. now I can't select them to boot...................... Plus, I would be more grateful using Mac OSx if the sound worked & internet too.. Ehh, when I click on About this Mac, I think it crashes. the whole screen goes blue then the bottom & top menus reappear in a few seconds.......... Line in windows xp. L0l.......... talk about the dark ages or people saying Macs don't crash, L0l. well it is OSx86 after all there bound to be problems.............. L0l.......... talk about the dark ages or people saying Macs don't crash, L0l. well it is OSx86 after all there bound to be problems.............. hey! be careful of what you say about mac here! you might tread a lot of toes here! lol anyway! first thing: your computer crashes because it is a HACintosh and not MACintosh! now that you have got hang of it, its all down hill! you just need to choose the right drivers! and plus tell me if you have used an alternative kernel or you are using Vanilla? I might find it interesting! I am fascinated every time a machine makes it into the light! lol i mean every time a machine makes it with untouched kernel, there is another nail in the coffin about networking . . . are we talking about of WLAN or LAN? and what manufacturer! and sound! what card? by the way, I used to have at LEAST 3 kernel Panics before i could boot once successfully, before! but since i have switched to Vanilla! i am yet to see a KP OK at least with a single core! if i start of with both cores, than i still occasionally get a Kernel Panic, but i don't use both cores anyway! (since the system over heats ) ok ok ! i know , i AM using a HACKintosh and not a MACintosh! cheers! keep us posted I may be wrong! but this problem looks like your media is not consistent! I mean your disc is not burnt properly or has scratches! try burning the disk at lower bit rate! by the way! i am glad i was right! 652
hey! be careful of what you say about mac here! you might tread a lot of toes here! lol Sorry about that, of course, I wouldn't even expect perfect results considering Apple never wanted a mac to run on just any computer but there's. They make a lot more money that way!$!$$$!!!!$$$$$$$$ L0l. Laptop - Sony VAIO: VGN-C220E I searched google, the Sony website but no luck, I couldn't find any information on my laptops hardware what so ever!!!!!!!!!! That's why I'm having so much trouble selecting my drivers, I'm basically guessing on everything...... Maybe you'll have better luck helping me.. Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 / 1.66 GHz which implies: you SHOULD be able to use Vanilla, which, of course, in turn, is going to make life a lot easier! and rules out the AMD stuff! Intel 945GM Express which means chipset would be ICHX Fixed Ethernet is probably going to work out-of-the-box, but if not:Intel100ProVE ethernet kext! Intel GMA 950 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 3.0 which means Intel GMA950 kext for video! (but i think you would do fine without it!) Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG which means essentially NO WLAN! (I hope this is not a deal breaker for you! Kämpf weiter soldat!!) Sound can't really help you out there, mate! couldn't find what sound thingie you have! But I suppose it is going to work OUT-OF-THE-BOX! cheers! and keep on fighting P.S. i have assumed that you are using iDeneb 1.4 post your findings here! i am following! and be patient with me! i have exams next week! but i WILL respond!
