Hi,

I'm running a Dell XPS m1530. Yesterday, I was fooling around with some terminal code and somehow uninstalled a crucial part of OS X with gave me the gray screen with the box in all the languages telling me I needed to reboot and about an ACPI error. They never went away, so I decided to restore. I had successfully run the OS for 3 or 4 months with no issues, but now I get a weird issue after restoring from the time machine backup made a few days before the crash. :)

When I boot, I get:

boot0: MBR
boot0: GPT
boot0: HFS+
boot0: error_

I searched, but couldn't make much sense out of the answers I came across. Anyone know how to fix this? I'd be quite grateful.

Thanks. :(

Hi,

hmmm im kind of having a similar problem. just that i have never had success loading )sx without the DVD. when i installed my osx, i intended to dual boot with XP. after installation i managed to create my account and everything but after i restarted the pc, i noticed i cant boot into OSX without the dvd (external drive used) inside. i have to use the "rd=disk*s* command.

1) i tried setting the OSX partiion active by using the installation dvd (fdisk) but when i restart the pc i come to a black screen

2) i tried reinstalling the bootloader (Chameleon) but after restarting the screen shows "boot0:mbr, boot0:Done" then loads XP instead

3) tried adding the "C:\chain0="Mac OS X86" line to the boot.ini. after restart, pc shows the operating system options. i choose Mac OS X, then im led to a blank screen :( - no boot

4) tried using Acronis OS Selector and activated it. on restart..error message "No configuration file present"

5) reinstalled OSX countless times, hoping it will load the bootloader...no change

so what am i missing!! ;) help please
