I currently swapped out my 6800gt videocard for a 256mb x800gto.

I have osx86 10.4.6 installed.

Here is the readout in system Profile. It doesnt allow me to change resoultion and it only notices 128mb on my card.

VRAM (Total): 128 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x4a49

Revision ID: 0x0000

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Supported

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Supported

I was wondering what needs to be done so I can change resolution and refresh rates.

I now get the famous cursor blocks and the sometimes restart your computer messages.

I would like to know how to fix these issues.

Im kinda new to the osx86 workings, so some basic help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The resolution can be changed by editing that famous com.apple.Boot.plist.

The refresh rate cannot be changed yet. Currently omni is developing a driver which hopefully will allow us to change the resolution and the refresh rate.

For that 'cursor blocks' (not mouse tearing, right?) - that disappearing of mouse cursor when using Keynote, iPhoto slideshow or some games there is nothing to be done. ATIRadeon9700.kext is not working right. So there are issues with OpenGL.

Also, the amount of vmemory is not detected right.

I think we would better buy real macs.... :(
