keith
I installed the JaS ATI PFF that I DLed and applied it to my ISO, then burned it. In the past, I couldn't even boot the installer, and now I can install! Now I only have ONE problem with OSX86, and everything else works flawlessly. I need to be able to get a widescreen resolution....but I doubt that I can yet If anyone can help me with that...thanks! -Keith Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16937-i-got-past-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites
dgsr2002
Wow, if I could somehow get the exact iso you used for your laptop that would be great. I have a lance armstrong laptop with the turion ML-34, except I have the ATI Radeon Express 200, and I have had no luck with the myzar iso I downloaded. I got past the "still waiting for root device" by typing in rd=disk0s1, however I have a kernel panic that won't let me get past the grey apple. If you could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. keith
Well, I can go through with the install, takes like an hour though! When I try to boot, I get the little Darwin boot loader. It goes into a some sort of verbouse mode and tells me everything that is happening. First off, it loads like every singal KEXT file in a fast scrolling swarm of text, then does all this stuff that I don't know what the heck its doing. So its working....but its not. One more thing, I created 2 paritions, one is MACOS and 2 is MS-DOS. I tried the installation a second time with 1 as MACOS and 2 as Free Space. I am doing it a third time right now as all MAC OS. dgsr2002
thanks for quick replies...i found this guide http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11314 on how to use vmware for native install. i have a weird problem though. I followed the instructions to a T, and I have a perfectly good working installation through vmware, however, I cannot boot the system natively. It's almost as though the changes were not written to the partition I selected even though I selected the independent persistent and the physical disc option...sorry I'm rambling on in the wrong topic, I'll post this in the appropriate place, I just wanted to update you thanks again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16937-i-got-past-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-109776 Share on other sites
