rafael.
i'm still a bit new to hackintoshing, so i'm still learning. i'm not sure what my exact spec is, and i'd like to know whether it's compatible, because i can't afford to format my hard drive again by mistake is there a program or something that i can use to check what my spec is and/or whether it's compatible. although once i know what it is i can check it against the database. also, i did search before posting this, and couldn't find anything on this. sorry if it's been asked before, i know what it's like. i'm an active member on other forums where i actually know a lot bout the stuff lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169280-how-to-check-my-spec/ Share on other sites

The CPU you have, Intel or AMD and the model etc, and your graphics card, chipset, (ATI or Nvidia) and the series/model/ram. That should be enough to check the HCLs to see if you have a system that is capable of running OSX. rafael.
thanks a lot for all your help guys. i found it out, the motherboard. it's intel CT017 and from what i've seen it isn't compatible . are there any 'perfect' hackintoshes like the dell mini 9, or is the best way to get one on which everything works, is to build it yourself? muckler
running smoothly with gigabyte ga-ep45-DQ6 motherboard, q9550 intel processor and nvidia 9800gtx+ graphics. stick to intel processors and chipsets & get an Nvidia card. YOu should be fine. Gigabyte & Asus seem to be the best motherboards... Your motherboard is an OEM part for either a Dell Dimension 9200 or XPS Gen 4, both of which have been successfully made to work, certainly at 10.5.2 which usually means you can upgrade. What are your detailed specs? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169280-how-to-check-my-spec/#findComment-1170662 Share on other sites
