dreamdust
I am currently running 10.5.7 Retail on an ASUS P2-5945G with everything working. Using Chameleon 2.0 RC1 with 12 kexts. Steps to install: Downloaded and booted from iDeneb 1.4 DVD. I couldn't boot from retail DVD. Formatted 3 partitions Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with GUID partition table. Installed iDeneb to second partition. Booted into iDeneb, installed Chameleon 2.0 RC1 on first partition.. Loaded kexts into /Extra/Extensions on first partition. Used disc utility to restore Retail 10.5.6 DVD to 3rd partition. Booted and chose to start from 3rd partition using Chameleon. Installed 10.5.6 Retail on 1st partition. Booted into retail (1st partition) and deleted other partitions, resizing first partition to full. Downloaded and installed 10.5.7 update. Rebooted. Fully functional retail install. Bios Settings (ASUS P2-5945G) - Advanced > CPU > Set Execute Disable Function to ENABLED - Power > Set Suspend Mode to S3 - Power > Set ACPI 2.0 Support to YES - Power > Set ACPI ACIP Support to ENABLED Kext Pack: Here is a zip of my kexts to go in /Extra/Extensions Kexts.zip TimeMachineFix.zip NOTE: AppleIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext must replace the vanilla one in /System/Library/Extensions because Chameleon 2.0 RC1 can not load it. This is the only vanilla kext you will have to replace. Keep a copy in Extra/Extensions for when you upgrade. NOTE: I do not have kexts for SATA devices UPDATE (2009-07-08): I have added a patched IONetworkingFamily.kext for fully-functioning Time Machine. This is in TimeMachineFix.zip. Just copy to Extra/Extensions and Time Machine should work without error. GMA 950 Fix (Intel 82945GZ Devide ID 2772 Revision 0002): To get full resolution and hardware acceleration, use the AppleIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext from 1.5.1 with the stock 10.5.7 drivers. The trick is that if you put it in Extra/Extensions it will not be loaded by Chameleon, you must replace the one in /System/Library/Extensions for it to work. With the 10.5.7 drivers and 10.5.1 framebuffer I'm getting full support with artifacts limited to certain applications. I tried Dr. Hurt's DSDT.aml patcher but it doesn't work with my motherboard, so after lots of searching this is the only solution I could find. You may experience some artifacts. To get a fully working graphics with no artifacts someone needs to patch GMA950 kext for device id 8086:2772. Nobody has done this that I know. I am working on it now myself and will post when I have successfully patched. ADI AD1988b Fix: Use the kexts in my supplied file. macastragalos
Thank you forever dreamdust !!! I have tested your configuration and I had leopard 10.5.7 running perfectly in only 20 minutes !!! Instead of performing your step by step guide, I used another hackintosh, then I reformated another hard disk with 2 partitions in GUI journaled hfs+ : 1 - Chameleon (1 Gb) 2 - MacOSX (499 Gb) Then I installed on the second partition a retail 10.5.6 installation, and in chameleon's partition I installed Chameleon 2 RC1 and I put in Chameleon's Extra/Extension's folder the kext you provided and all of a sudden everything ran perfectly. Yesterday I decided to change the old CRT monitor I use to use to test computers and put a new LCD 19'' monitor and I got to know a only could get 1024x768 resolution. Then I came to this forum again and I re-read your GMA 950 Fix issue . I think that my problem now is that I have not put framebuffer in /System/Library/Extensions . Now my question is: by saying framebuffer 1.5.1 yo mean AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext you provided in kext.zip ?? Thanks in advance !!! dreamdust
AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext You must replace the vanilla kext in /System/Library/Extensions with the one I've included, because for some reason Chameleon fails to load this. This is the only kext I had to replace in /System/Library/Extensions. Remember to keep a copy of it in /Extra/Extensions in case you upgrade and have to replace it again. This will give you all resolutions, but beware it is not a full fix. You may get some minor artifacts from time to time. This is because nobody has patched the GMA950 kext for device id 8086:2772. I'm working on patching it myself, and will upload a patch to this thread when I've got it. Time Machine In order to get time machine working perfectly you need to use a hacked copy of IONetworkingFamily.kext, which I have attached to this post. I seem to have forgot this in my original post. Just place in Extra/Extensions and time machine should work without problem. macastragalos
Hello again!! I have applied AppleIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext and now my graphics card is working fine, but I don't know why my Asus WL-138g v2 wireless PCI card is not running any more. (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.7#Wireless) . This card runs is, as you can see, in OSX86 HCL at 100%. I must have done something with AppleIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext that is not allowing my wireless card to run any more. Any suggestions , please ?
