roboprez Posted May 30, 2009 Share Posted May 30, 2009 I installed Leopard with kallyway on a external hard drive. It's been set up with drivers and works fine. Now I made Mac update but when it got to 11% it stayed on it for 2 hours. I restarted the computer thinking it hadn't got to far but unfortunately it had. Now when i try to boot to it it tells me to restart every time. I tried repairing the disk with the Kalyway boot-dvd but no help. Now I'm really regretting not setting up time-machine. is there anyway I can either repair the install or easily restore all my programs, drivers and settings to a new install? Boot with -v in the Darwin Bootloader, and take a picture of the Kernel Panic. Scottapotamas Posted May 31, 2009 Share Posted May 31, 2009 you should have backed up your kexts and bootloader and stuff with OSX86Tools first... umm, what update??? If you mean 10.5.7 then there's no wonder why it cocked up. If you can reinstall (which is probably the best method) either doenload the Kalyway 10.5.3 update thats up on tor sites or get it from me... Then use apples update avalable for 10.5.4 and that happens easily, then install a bunc of kexts and read Netkas' guide for updating a few times, do it and use the combo update package on the apple site to do the update... Even though i use a retail install that is fully updateable, i have found that using the software update is more problematic... Ayway, if you still have troubles, then you should probably get the latest iPC disk... It has a feature which can let you update properly... I think that its up to v5i by now... Ill go and check out that tutorial on updating and see what I can achieve.
