mikeazorin
I just started working on getting OS X86 working on my P4 2.4ghz 1gig RAM VAIO today, and I've gotten all the way up to bootin' the ol' Mac. However, in verbose mode, the last line tells me what kind of firewire I have, and it won't move anymore. It then keeps repeating "still waiting for root device". I've worked with Darwin before, and I know this is a dreaded error. My BIOS doesn't seem to have an option to disable my Firewire, or other built-in hardware. OS X is on my second physical disk, and XP is running fine on my first. I can look at all the files on the OS X with MacDrive, but the Mac dunt boot. Help is appreciated, y'all are great! mikeazorin
Okay, update. My hardware is definitely the problem. Using the OS x86 physcial drive in vmware, Tiger boots fine, albeit quite slowly. Jelmer
Well, this could be total nonsens, but you could try to start with the: rd=disk?s? option... judy
Does Darwin (booted from CD) recognize your IDE controller? If it does, mount your harddisk and try copying the relevant kext over.
