cogombo
Hi all, first of all sorry for posting this topic duplicated, but the last sunday there were some troubles in the forum and I couldn't access to this section. My problem is with "Sleep Mode". I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 with iPC 10.5.6, sleep worked well, but now I have updated my system to 10.5.7 (via apple) and now the system enters in "DEEP SLEEP" mode when I go to sleep the system or close the screen. I have tried settin hibernate mode to 0 but I have the same result. How can I turn to the normal, fast sleep mode? Any suggestion? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/168051-sleep-issue-upgrading-to-1057/ Share on other sites
cogombo
My issue was changed. Yesterday the problem was gone, and I could turn to sleep and wake up. If i put "pmset -g | grep hibernatemode" I always get "mode 3", even if I put "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0", always it says "mode 3". Today, the problem is bigger: when I awake from sleep, the system is highly unestable and freezes showing the black-screen of death saying to reset the computer in 4 languajes!!! Please help!!! Oh the Huge Manatee
This is bizarre. does pmset give you any errors? That's really the only method of setting sleep states. Maybe the power management update made OSX think your computer doesn't support S3 sleep? Try going back to your previous version of powermanagement.bundle and see if that helps. Look through console logs to see if there's a status message about what your ACPI is capable of. cogombo
Thanks for your reply. If I put "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0" Terminal ask me for my password and then it doesn't say nothing. Always in mode S3. Another issue is that "pmset -g" always tells me that I'm in battery, even if i'm without battery, only with AC. (Maybe this is the main problem that don't lets me change hibernate mode). Anyway S3 mode work well: I can sleep and awake, even unplug AC, restart and system loads sleepimage. This happens to me even with 10.5.6 iPC fresh install. Actually I have kernel tsc patch, vanilla appleacpiplatform and vanilla powermanagement.bundle, all for 10.5.7. I've tried a lot of versions of appleacpiplatform and powermanagement.bundle with no results. System.log says: Jun 8 22:39:21 localhost kernel[0]: ACPI: System State [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)Jun 8 22:39:21 localhost kernel[0]: Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style.
