Hello!

I am using a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a pentium M centrino 1.86Ghz (Supports sse2), 512mb ram, GMA 915 (I'll provide any more info if needed)

I'm trying to install for a few days now W/o any success - at least now I got winXP to boot again.

If I set the HFS partition as active, I immidietly get an 'hfs+ partition error' error and there it stops.

If I set the winXP partition as active, I am able now to boot into winXP, or choose OS-X(using the chain0 method), but if I do choose OS-X, the screen blinks and returns to the choice menu...

the most progress I was able to achieve was by booting from the install dvd and specifying 'rd=disk0s2 -v -s'

where I am able to get into a shell.

if I omit the -s, (even if I exchange it for -x or -f) I get a kernel panic (more details on the specific kind a little later - basically it complais that version 1.9 of a loaded module is different then the one needed to be loaded, if I'm not mistaken).

I have just copied the chain0 to the first sector of the partition to see if it'll help, and I also read somewhere that connecting an external monitor might help, so I'll try that as well, and will return with the results.

Meanwhile, has anyone experiances similar problems? If so, were you able to fix them? How? Anyone with any other ideas as to what I can try? I have the deadmoo image, but I would rather Install it using the dvd rather then dd it to the drive. I also have various liveCDs and BartPE if they are needed.

Thanks in advance!
