Well I guess I shouldn't complain. Hearing TWIT and 10.5.7 affecting notebook hackintosh as a +, I thought what the hell. Well after multiple -s and -x use to get a decent display going. Here I am. NVinject 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 are working better than just a EFI boot plist mention. Any friends that get a screen that is a real mess, use -x to fix it. As many posts on 10.5.7 say, even real mac users on the 8600 chipset (mobile version) can't even get their backlight to work! If anyone has 8600 GTS 256MB (mine is eVGA) full hardware quartz enabled reply. I doubt it. This .7 is a nightmare for the desktop users IMHO.....

P.S. I know it has something to do with the "Leopard Graphics Update". I recently used the XxX 10.5.6 to rebuild where I am at. On "XxX" it made leopard graphics update as a deadly sin saying: "use only if needed". It made my system full hardware quartz accelerated. After this .7 upgrade i'm back to how it was without it. It made the difference... Now like silverlight I need to make it install regardless of version number or processor...

This is for 10.5.7 users that were fine in 10.5.6 Mroutrageous. I might be able to answer your Q as well though.

10.5.7 Update users with non working QE (Quartz Extreme) and/or CI (Core Image). I got it to work.

1. Remove all the NV(kush, inject, etc.) extensions out of the extensions folder.

2. Get a copy of EFI studio.

3. Under Display select your card. I did mine "8600 GTS"

4. Then add it to the boot.com.plist

5. Repair permissions etc.

*****************************

6. Download the FULL 10.5.7 combo update from Apple <-- This is where my fix came. I will never use standard software update again! Even if you have 10.5.7 this will let u reinstall over it. NO NEED TO REDO THE OS :thumbsup_anim: It's a 729MB download from Apple.

*****************************

7. Reboot (will reboot again on its own) then check in system profiler.

* Asus P5W mobo users like me will have to redo the AppleHDA for sound to work again. *

Here is my Screen now, thank God!

I followed the process you outlined and it didn't work for me. I only deleted nvinject and nvdarwin though...i wasn't sure about deleting nvdaresman and other nvda related kexts. If you did do that I'd be willing to give it a shot but I thought you were just referring to stuff like nvinject and nvdarwin.

I never had any problems with my 8600GT (512MB) but then again I am using device properties in com.apple.Boot.plist from day one, thanks to EFi Studio, so I cannot really complain about any version of OS X so far, but what exactly do you mean with: "full hardware quartz enabled"?
