larathydo
Hello folks, I'm hoping this is the correct forum for this topic. Anywho, I just got my hands on the 10.4.6 Installation DVD and I have been successful installing OS on my M200 Tablet PC. Boy, I'll tell you that so far this thing is flying. I have a Mac Mini G4 1.3Ghz and a Powerbook G4 @ 1.5Ghz and this little guy just seems to go at blazing speeds throughout the OS anyway.. Getting back on topic... I was wondering if someone might be able to give me a hand with my Audio on the laptop. Since I've installed Mac OS X, I have not had any audio. I've been doing some digging throughout some fourms and the only discussion I could come up with is this one: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...pic=452&hl=M200 I see a suggestion in that thread that suggests not booting into OS X with the "-x" variable. How exactly could I try this? Does anyone have any other suggestions to enable audio on my laptop? I'd be very appreciative if anyone could help me out! larathydo
If it's of any help I managed to find out this information about my Tablet PC's onboard soundcard: Vendor ID: 8086 Dev ID: 24C5 so that would make it "24C58086"? larathydo
Subsequently, I have resolved my issue with audio. It in fact has nothing to do with OS X and will work immediately after installation. There is an option in my Laptop's BIOS to let either the BIOS or Operating System control devices. Once I set this to BIOS, the sound immediately started working. I still have yet to get my laptop running at full resolution (1400x1050x32@60Hz). So far i've only been able to bump the resolution up to 1280x1024x32@60. I'm running a NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 (32MB) video card as well, which seems sluggish drawing certain windows - and 3D screensavers in particular. Does anyone know of any drivers I could use for this video card or how to get the screen running at full resolution? Also, and to me this would be an absolutely essential problem to fix: I (still) do not have my built-in Wireless networking working. I have the Intel 2100 chipset, and still have not come accross anything pertaining to how to set it up. Anyone hear how to get this working? I may be able to get my hands on a Linksys 802.11b PCMCIA card - what are the chances that it will work well? Anywho, if anyone has any other suggestions to get the rest of the stuff working i'd be greatful! rintintin
I know this is an old topic but I have a question: On the Toshiba M200, how did you install OsX? The M200 doesn't have an internal optical drive and I can't boot from a DVD/CD-RW drive, which seems to be a common problem with the M200s. Solution? Siegfried
I know this is an old topic but I have a question: On the Toshiba M200, how did you install OsX? The M200 doesn't have an internal optical drive and I can't boot from a DVD/CD-RW drive, which seems to be a common problem with the M200s. Solution? Just connect a USB DVD-ROM and while booting select the CD/DVD ROM boot. I also have a Tablet Pc and i wonder if you managed to make the pen input work. Thanks! For serial Wacom interfaces like the M200 has, TabletMagic (tabletmagic.sourceforge.net) might work. I haven't tried it myself though.
