cyrana
Hmm, perhaps try booting with a -v -f and then report back to us on the errors you see before it hangs? (please...) Only do this with the ATI drivers deleted first, although just removing the 9700 one should be sufficient. cyrana
Hmmm. At the boot prompt, try booting with platform=x86pc and if that doesn't work, try platform=ACPI. Anyone else have ideas here? (I've not yet searched the forum for your error...try searcing for that serial port acpi one...) medafor
when i delete the 9700 only file, it allows me to boot once without using the -x command. then i hit restart and i get that same hang. checking again it was the same error. this is frustrating . cyrana
If it is recreating the file, perhaps after you delete it you should boot with -f... if its still making it, I think the cache files need to be done manually?
