After finally getting my ethernet working, I used the apple software updater to get all the updates for my programs.. everything was fine the first few updates, even after updating to 10.5.6. But I ran updater again, and I think it was a security fix, not sure (really wish I had paid more attention now!) and it seems to have done something to my video card (8800GT).

Normally when I boot up, I get a picture within 2 seconds of powering on, but now it doesnt give me a picture until after about 10 seconds - if I dont hit the pause button I completely miss the first 2 POST screens showing my intel matrix raid setup and sata controller devices... has me wondering if it tried to update my firmware thinking it was the mac version 8800GT? Thankfully it still seems to function normally, but this had me a little worried since its not correctly recognizing the full 1gb of ram that it might try to update me to a different model 8800gt card? and that of course started me worrying about it might try to push a BIOS update for the mac it *thinks* I own? Anyone know anything about Apple updater pushing incorrect firmware updates? I'm pretty new to this, this is my first "hackintosh" build.

Thanks
