mulletman13
Hey everyone, Not entirely a stranger to the OSX86 game, but I've been out of it for a bit. I'm just fine once I get to the installer, but I'm running across a problem here. I'm trying to install from a USB (IDE) DVD Drive, with iPC in it. I've used the disk successfully before, so that's not an issue. Anyways, if I start from the disk I am unable to get past the Apple splash screen. The circling donut doesn't even appear, but a line of periods and hashmarks appear at the top. I tried booting in verbose mode, and after it loads the mach kernel and extensions, it goes right to a black screen (and does absolutely nothing afterwards). iAtkos 10.5.1 boots just fine, but I'll have to jump through hoops to get all the proper extensions installed. Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Any idea on the fix? Thanks! mulletman13
I'm an idiot. I updated the BIOS, and things worked fine. Additionally, the iPC I got was not the final version-- it was a beta version. Applying the PPF updates would have also (likely) worked. In case anybody runs into a similar situation- update your BIOS!
