zimo
Got a replacement for my late 05 dual core g5, does any one know were I can find a guide for removing and replacing the power supply? I thought it would be easy once I got the cpu out but its not, I hope I don't have to remove the main board. Any help would be appreciated, thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/165042-help-replacing-dual-core-g5-power-supply/ Share on other sites

vailancer
you do not have to remove the logic board, just remove the back fan, processor(s) , remove the 2 screw above the psu plate. and 4 screws bottom of the case. then push to the front, remove all the cables then its out. Thanks for the reply, - can get the point were the processor, fan is out and all the screws tha hold the power supply are removed. I can move the power supply forward, the problem is the late 05 dual cores has these tabs that connect to the logic board and there isn't enough room to angle it out of the case. Hopefully there is an easy way to do this that I am missing.
