I've been trying to install OSx for almost a week now without any luck. I've been trying to install OsX10.4.4/5 by Myzar on my Maxtor SATA hard drive. I applied the MacOSX_10.4.4DVD_PPF4 patch to the original file and still no luck. I'm going to try the 10.4.6 Amd/Intel Update tomorrow.

My question is... should I download another DVD like the Jas 10.4.6 instead and try that?

Also, what percentage (rough estimate) of SATA drives are supported?

If nothing else works I think I'm going to buy a PATA or external hard drive instead.

So, If you guys can take a few minutes out and reply with the answers and some suggestion, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think you really need to find out if your motherboard is supported. Everything else falls in place if the rest of your hardware is also supported. Search the manuf and model of your hardware here on the board and in the wiki.

The one from JaS worked for "me". The one from Myzar also worked for a lot of other people. How abut dowloading both and see which one works, if bandwidth isn't an issue? No point in downloading 1 and forcing it wo work on your system.
