Hello all

Its been a long time since I've said hi to this place. Anyway , let me get to the point. I've bought a Fujitsu U810 (its a UMPC) and it runs fine with Windows XP , Vista and Ubuntu. So I thought of installing OSX86 on this baby to see if it can do

Only iPC 10.5.6 works , it can boot the installation fine without any hangs and installs it fine. GMA 950 , ALC 262 , Battery/Power Management , PCMCIA/Card Reader (thanks to the IOPCIFamily by the guy who made it possible) , Ethernet , etc.

Okay now here's the part that doesn't work - the WiFi Card. Accoring to ubuntu , its a AR5006EG card (it just shows as a b/g card). On OSX and linspire it identifies itself AR24x 80211g/b/a. Both of them shows the correct device ID (168c,1c). So since there are lots of threads which shows on how to get it working , I followed them (page by page) and tried. All of them do give me this error. I've even tried flashing it (by editing its ROM values to match Apple's vanila kext) - and yet it doesn't work

Anyhow , I've changed the device ID to match a compatible card and it throws me this error. In fact it throws me this error as before this

ath_attach: devid 0x14

unable to attach hardware; HAL status 3

start [/sourceCache/AirPortDriverAtheros5424/AirPortDriverAtheros5424-235.9.3/src/driver/AtherosController.cpp:xxx] loaded unsuccessfully

where xxx are some lines - depending on the versions of kext. If you guys want , let me know. I'll post them here with what kext version and so on

Anyway here are my questions :-

1) Is it related to PCIe bus at all. HAL status 3 shows that "Hardware didn't respond as expected". So is it got to do with the bus , or the drivers or the card itself

2. Does this thing work on previous versions of OSX

3. Has it got to do with killswitch ? I mean if the card is "turned off" , by right OSX would see 'ey there is a card with this mac address' but Airport would remain it as off right ?

Please guys , I've read all the tutorials which you have posted but it didn't work for me

Edit : I'll see what I can do with linux as well. Anyone else getting hal error 3 . Please keep in note that its not hal error 13 , that means your hardware revision doesn't match the revision the kext was written for.
