georgiana Posted May 4, 2009 Share Posted May 4, 2009 Hi, I've tried IPC 10.5.6 ppf5 final - at the installation there was a really long list of drivers to choose from. I chose what i thought right and it did install.(writing this post from it.. ) The OS comes up but.. it doesn't recognize my cpu.. for some reason thinks its 3.8 ghz.. there's no dvd/cd also.. and the graphics and mouse move really slow.. what could be the problem? can you help me fix it? do i need to reinstall? or can i add drivers? how do i do that.. thanks! georgiana Posted May 4, 2009 Author Share Posted May 4, 2009 hi i tried what u suggested and installed from osx86tools.. but now my os doesn't load at all.. it get stuck in the gray screen with no entry sign... and even trying to boot from the dvd doesn't work.. can anyone help??plz??? thanks from a worried noob p.s forgot to mention before that the time machine doesn't work either.. doesn't find anything to backup... georgiana Posted May 5, 2009 Author Share Posted May 5, 2009 hi must i update permissions? sorry.. as i said.. a noob. how do i do that? i did try -v -f and -s but it didn't work. any way.. since then.. i reinstalled it and changed my ata dvd to a sata one-lg gh22ns30 and now i get an error message when the pc starts"detected drives done. no any drive found".... so now when i start the computer i see the dvd and have access. but after about 15 min.. i can't access the dvd my computer gets very slow & stuck i have to restart manually .. and even when i restart i doesn't show the dvd anymore and still works very slow!. only when i turn off the computer manually and on again does it show the dvd again.. the cpu still not recognized right.. and when i turn off computer it only turns off the screen.,.. what's the problem???is it memory? allocation? appreciate your help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/164924-please-help-pc-freezes-very-slow-and-doesnt-turn-off/#findComment-1149273 Share on other sites More sharing options...

You cannot use Time Machine on the same drive/partition that you are backing up. Which makes perfect sense.
