ben10
I have posted this thread in a couple other spots and MODS: I AM SORRY!! This is the proper place for this topic, I just couldn't find it until now, for some reason ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813151194 Does anyone have experience with this motherboard? I think the new Mac Pro uses some Intel Tylersburg-based motherboard (which this is), so maybe it will work with vanilla kernel. I seem to remember someone saying they got a different TYAN running on a vanilla kernel. This is what I would ultimately want to do. I have looked around and found some positive experiences getting TYAN mobos to work, but haven't seen anything about this one, which is relatively new. Would love any info! This guy had issues with a similar TYAN motherboard apparently: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...mp;#entry805822 While Team Scream got an older TYAN installed with a vanilla kernel (although not trouble free) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83229 This would be a great high end mobo for a hackintosh if it works. I will guinea pig it probably (hopefully) if no one has any experience with it (out of the ppl who happen upon this thread of course). I want to get a 8-core machine put together, with a buttload of RAM for CG rendering. Anyone have any TYAN advice? Maybe they have another offering that would work with the current generation of Xeon CPUs but is more compatible with Mac..?
