Consider one thing: MSI G31M3-L and MSI G31M3-F are basicaly the same whitch means YES you can use the same BIOS witch i'll attach belowA7529IMS.120.zip 1. after flashing of BIOS, Disable USB legasy support 2. on BIOS settings Choose ACPI -S1. Default is S3. 3. I Suppose you move on the set up. I attached a jpg you can print and use the settings from there. NOTE? although it seems that system profiller regognise on board Ethernet, it doesn't seem to work, so i pluged a thirt party PCI Ethernet (Realtek). Lloyd Owen
Here's the deal: I'm very new not only at the Hackintosh thing but OSX all together. Here's the configuration I have (I'm hoping that I would not have to change much because I'm having a hard time finding some of the hardware) 1- MSI Intel G31M3-F LGA775 microATX (MS-7528-010) 2- Intel Core2 Duo 2.8GHz (E7400) 3- 4GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM 4- 500GB SATA HDD 5- SATA DVD RW 6- Inno3D GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2 (PCI Express) After doing some research online, I found the the xXx 10.5.6 works with this board, I had to: 1- Disable USB Legacy Support 2- Use cpus=1 v to install 3- I selected: a. Essential System Software b. System Kexts: Essential System Kexts c. Optional Kernel: Voodoo 9.5.0 1.0 d. Chipset Support: ICHx Chipset Support e. Graphics Drivers: NVidia Support: NVinject: NVinject_0.2.1_1GB f. AudioDrivers: ALC Audio Drivers: Old ALC88x Drivers: alc888 3 ports g. NetworkDrivers: RealtekR1000.Driver h. Tools: all 4- After a few minutes the Installation Successful Screen is shown 5- The reboot freezes 6- When I run it with the cpus=1 rd=disk0s2 v options it boots but the following happens: a. LAN does not work b. No Sound c. No USB d. One Display resolution 7- If I run the OSx86 tools and I add cpus=1 rd=disk0s2 options the system does not boot properly, I need to keep the DVD in there, boot from it and then run it with: cpus=1 rd=disk0s2 options for it to run Is there a chance that I get this system up and running? If not what kind of microATX board would you recommend? I need something that I can do the least amount of work to get running. If there is a chance that I can run this system, please advise (I would appreciate the boring details) Hey, just sharing some light on the topic, Here's my success with your board, with the stock firmware for the bios: Distribution Used: iPc 10.5.6 Final a) Boot With Flags ' -v cpus =1' All Boot's Fine. b)Format HDD To GUID Mac Os Journaled - Using Disk Utility. All Formats Well. c) Options Used On The List: 1) Voodoo Kernel 2) No video Drivers ( Graphics Card Un-Supported, But Recognized By Utility.) 3) ALC888 old - Can't Seem To get that to work yet 4) Ethernet RTL1000 - Works. 4) Fixes; Voodoo Power Managment CPUS=1 Fix - Not needed but makes life easier. Seatbelt Fix 10.5.5 ACPI Fix UUID Fix Force Compile DSDT With New Hpet/Custom Boot Image -------------- Should Boot Fine, Enough To Install Optional Drivers For Audio And Display etc.
