GA-EP45T-UD3LR

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128371

It apparently works perfect in osx according to the wiki:

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.6#Gigabyte

I'm going to use one for my next build, looks like a great yet cheap ddr3 board.

Does somebody have a success story with GA-EP45T-UD3P motherboard, or is better to go on GA-EP45-UD3P (DDR2)?

Thank you!

I am looking forward to buy the GA-EP45T-UD3P, would be really interesting to know if that mainboard worked.

Nobody out there having a success story?

didn't see the post from NoSmokingBandit before...

the GA-EP45T-UD3LR seems to work according to http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.6#Gigabyte

I think this will be my choice - difference between GA-EP45T-UD3LR and GA-EP45T-UD3P is the onboard sound:

Realtek ALC888 vs. Realtek ALC889A

Hi, I want to build a hackintosh and I want to chose a DDR3 memory motherboard.

Does somebody have a success story with GA-EP45T-UD3P motherboard, or is better to go on GA-EP45-UD3P (DDR2)?

Thank you!

I have this board up and running with and ATI 4850. I seem to have more trouble with hard drives than the board. As I write this I have had vanilla 10.5.8 running for over a month and now I have WD IDE 500 gb giving me trouble keeping the Mac side up and running with out freezing or panic screen. Used several different boot disk but only 123 boot from EP45-UD3P with Lenard soup mix works. Still working to get SL up and running for I just pick and grin when it comes to computers.

I ran across this EP45-UD3P Leopard install kit my Weaksauce12, referenced in OSX86 Wiki component list for 10.5.6.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/tggygyldgmz/UD3P.ip

It is listed with the Gigabyte motherboards. A big statement is made. It said everything works. You see that kind of talk a lot throughout the hackintosh threads.

The statement was not too big. Every thing works. Not only does everything work, this was one of the most precise, complete guides I have seen. In this kit, the instructions are in an RTF file. You got to see this. This guy explains every thing. Must be some kind of alien. He even includes the bios file, the mobo documentation, and an image burner in case you are starting on a Windows system. There is no trial and error. My reset button is going to have to find another job.

He says he has more explanation elsewhere. Forget it. You don't need more than the kit. This guy has too much humility, some kind of alien thing. Oh, yeah he even lays out every bios setting you need in this RTF file.

Oh yeah, this a retail install. Aliens have honor. But, it's a slam dunk. I think he, the alien, used a Rev 1.0 EP45-UD3P with a quad processor. His bios, which he provides F8, wouldn't work for me. I have a Rev 1.6 EP45-UD3P, latest bios FB. There is a Rev 1.1 board, also, but they probably all work. I have an E5200 cpu, cheap, plenty fast, and worked fine.

Also, my video card, XFX 9600T 512MB, cheap, nothing special, but wasn't listed in the universal installer provided by the alien. More alien modesty. The universal installer he provided, you can select custom, which I did, works great. I don't know if there is an 8 or 9 series Nvidia card that won't work with this. You got one of these Nvidia's not listed, select custom on the universal installer and it prompts you for your board info.

Also, Weaksauce12, I'll quit referring to him as the alien, don't want to {censored} him off, I picture him supporting 2 dozen platforms at once, so he' kind of like the phantom, says if you go full boat, install sound and lan, the system might not be perfect. Do it anyway. I did. Also, speedstep might not work. It all works. It all works great.

The sound works great, no funky little usb plug, not funny popping noises from sound. Oh, yeah, the phantom says put the audio plug in the black jack, not green. I never would have figured that out. Sleep works perfect, wakes perfect, screensaver perfect, lan delay on wake undetectable, and I know what the phantom means on maybe slow, from my Atkos install.

WS12 even includes a screensaver fix, which I ran even though he didn't say. But, my screensaver works, not like previous installs I've done, so what the heck.

So, I'm trying stuff like VLC, Frontrow, Ilife, Netflix. I can't find anything that doesn't work.

Oh yeah, Netflix requires the following. They work. Used kexthelper b7 to install. Don't forget to delete the software check when you install Silverlight.

Disable your automatic sofware update. Do not let your update run past 10.5.6. Jump to Snow Leopard next. Check out all the action. The big guns are beating the {censored} out of SL. Check out some of the EP45-XXXX threads. I think I'll wait for the alien to check it out and say it's okay before I do that.

Meanwhile, I have a Machack that works great.
