Handbrake is the premier DVD ripping tool for OS X.

You can rip to H264 - XviD et al.

In the Handbrake forum there is a benchmarks list - people ripping DVD's and posting the framerate's they're getting. - I was just wondering if anyone'd tried Handbrake for their particular computer with OSX86 and what results they'd gotten?

No one has compiled a universal bin, afaik.

I was hoping someone with some spare time and knowledge would whack it into Xcode and compile a universal binary.

I've used the beos version with a 2.4 ghz p4.

h264/aac at 1200/128. I was getting a little above 6 fps. By contrast I get a little over 4 fps using the same settings on my 1.5 ghz mac mini. I imagine handbrake will be hard to compile since it seems to make use of lots of external components (ie x264 will have to be compiled, etc).
