Is there anyone that know how to fix the Shutdown & Reboot problem?

 

Everytime I shutdown or reboot my pc (View my signature) it hang on a Black screen , maybe no signal sent to the screen, and the system fans still turned on.

 

If anyone know how to make it work I'll be pleased.

there are various issues for that.

 

on my p5b sleep works, if firefox is closed.

restart works, sometimes ( you have to wait about 30 sec.)

shutdown works sometimes, mostly after a fresh start.

 

all this has to do with the bios and the dsdt tables, which do the acpi ( power) managment.

there are some fixed bios´es and dsdt tables round, i have not tried them, cause its more a cosmetic error.

 

if its important for you you can give them a try.

( but think before, how you fix it, if something goes wrong ( second system on other hd, for example))

I don't understand if there are some modified bios for P5B-SE mainboard.

 

On my system shut-down / reboot / sleep never works even if I install ACPI kext or variuos Shut down fix.

 

In advance your motherboard is a P5B or P5B-SE ? It's different!
