Howdy all,

This is my first post. I'm about to build my next computer, and I very much want it to be primarily an OSX box. Its going to be pretty beefy, and I wanted to run a couple of things by those that have gone before. I've read quite a bit in the wiki, and mainly wanted to know how risky it is to deviate from the tested hardware.

I haven't chosen a mobo, but would like to go with an intel quad core i7 processor. Very few (if any) of the mobos that support these processors have been tested.

I am also going to go with this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208380) as a boot drive, and combine with a 500G media drive. Any foreseeable worries going this route?

I'll be using 6G total RAM (3x2G), triple channel. Problems?

Everything else should be pretty standard. If someone is willing to pipe in regarding whether I'm about to make a huge mistake, I would appreciate it very much. If there are guide's somewhere that address my primary questions, please just let me know. This forum is so vast that a brief skim of the stickys didn't reveal answers to my more specific questions.
