farukp
Hi. I now have my great hackintosh. But would also like to install a windows Virtual Machine with Parallels or VMWare. The Problem is, that the System doesnt let me install either of those. How can I install one of these? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160544-cant-install-vmware-or-parallels-on-ipc-1056/ Share on other sites
ashman1970
What CPU do you have? Your CPU has to support virtualization in order for you to be able to install either Parallels or Fusion. We need to know the model of your CPU, so Intel Pentium D 935, or Core 2 Duo E4500 something like that. Can it be that it did not want to install because of the System Information dialog was wrong.... magomaguitomago
My problem is similar... I have a: Intel DG31PR Motherboard Intel core 2 duo E4500 2 GB Ram... GeForce 8400GS I intalled iPC and it runs fine... Even the quartz is ok.. But I´m trying to install Parallels 5 and it says my machine doesn´t support Hardware virtualization; I used parallels 4 in the same machine before (other osx86 install) and it worked fine, so I tried installing Parallels 4 again and I have the same problem... it says it doesn´t support hardware virtualization! I updated the BIOS to the last ver. and no VT-x config appears.. If someone knows the turn around... please help Thanx! Sorry about your luck but your Intel processor does not support virtualization/VT, check intel site: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA95 Parallels 5 do require VT and without it won't even install. All real MACs support VT so basically Parallels is not for older/cheap Hackintosh'es.
