This should be a pretty straight forward yes no +little info answer.

Background:

Windows XP (sata drive)

OSX86 (ata 100)

Both work well, I simply want to add a boot manager.

I have a legal vista CD and attempted to copy the windows/boot directory to my XP drive.

EasyBCD says I'm missing the subfolder pcat/. I can not see this folder on the CD.

Do I actually have to install vista to get these files? I really don't want to do that. I hate vista and I'm happy with XP.

BTW I want to say a big thank you to everyone on this forum, if it wasn't for this forum I would have never gotten OSX86 working on my IntelD915 mobo. I didn't even have to post, there is just so much info here and its so well structured that I found all the info I needed without having to register until now. =)

I just tried vista 64 boot folder and its not the same as the 32 bit version. =(

Why not just use the chain0 method......

1. Go to My Computer > C: Drive > Tools > Folder Options

2. Click the view tab in the new window.......tick Hide protected System Files and Show Hidden Files and Folders.

3. Co back to C: drive and open the file named boot.ini

4. Copy C:\chain0="Mac OS X86" into the last line of text

5. Save and close the file.

6. Copy the file called “chain0″ to your C: drive
