maruchan
I have an ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 r2 board with a 4x PCIe slot in it. I've been struggling to get either an nVidia 8400GS PCIe or a 9400 GT PCIe working in it, but so far no luck. In the HCL list I saw a comment about 4x slots not working, but it's the only reference to it I've seen so I'm not sure. I've seen other people post their hardware with ATI PCIe cards working fine in the board, so it seems if there is an issue, it's with nVidia PCIe cards. Everything else on the board works perfectly in the XxX release of Leopard 10.5.6: Lan, audio, IDE, wireless (asus PCI card), etc, so I'd hate to have to buy a new motherboard just for this graphics card issue. Has anyone had any luck getting ASRock boards working with nVidia PCIe? Or can anyone at least confirm that 4x slots work fine in general? Thanks for your help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/159698-4x-pcie-slots-and-leopard/ Share on other sites
cj95
they do not work. I have the same board as you. I have 9600gt and usually i get a black screen or hang at ocspd when leopard loads... but you probably have bought another board by now since this thread is 3 months old Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/159698-4x-pcie-slots-and-leopard/#findComment-1164725 Share on other sites
