trogdor3222
I've seen quixos' guide, but that was for manually updating from 10.4.5. I had a working 10.4.5 installation then applied MacOSXUpd10.4.6Intel.mpkg, after that I couldn't connect to my shared windows drive. Not too suprising, having read about it. So I copy smbfs.fs over to my hard drive, correct permissions and still no good. What exactly am I supposed to copy over? I think thats where I messed up. I found out what I'm supposed to replace, where do I find this on the DVD, or could someone post it (if its legal!). quixos
I've seen quixos' guide... if you follow the guide, it will direct you to back up mount_smbfs, and recreate the broken AppleFileServer symlink. :pirate2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15953-mounting-shares-yes-i-have-read-other-threads/#findComment-102468 Share on other sites

I know, I decided to just use the auto patch instead...oops. I managed to get mount_smbfs off my DVD! I then deleted my old one (from /sbin) and then copied the DVD one over. I repaired file permissions, and still nothing. I read in another post that the smbfs.kext file from 10.4.4 needs to be copied over. Anyone have this laying around? Any help would be greatly appreicated! I'm backing up EVERYTHING from now on...
