OS-Maniac
I installed Leo4All numerous times but this is the first time I install iDeneb(1.4). I *think* i installed every extension needed and kept the Vanilla kernel as I always do but I haven't seen an option to install EFI V8 not Chameleon and when I install it won't boot... HOw can I solve this? Can I install EFI from another OS/DVD???? I got openSuSE on my PC so I got GRUB (Linux users' most popular bootloader) so this might help. I tried adding OS X to it but it doesn't boot as it gives me an error. It used to work with Leo4All when I had a bootloader working... eagertolearn
OSX should come with default Darwin Bootloader, although on my xXx 10.5.6 DVD i have to manually add command to com.apple.Boot.plist located in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ <key>Timeout</key> <string>60</string> the problem with my install is that when OSX boots it instantly runs com.apple.Boot.plist, but adding this two line of code in this file u can "pause" this process so u have time to press F8. MGJulius
What error is it exactly giving you? Also if your leopard partition is the primary/active one and you leave the iDeneb disc in there it will boot up the hdd. From there you can download chameleon and install it. MajorKen
I'm having the same problem... I can boot when the disc is in but when I remove it I'm getting "Insert Bootable disc or something like that". I tried installing chameleon and still same problem. I checked the Startup on the System Preferences and the hard disk is not there. The optical drive is IDE and the HDD is Sata. Is that a problem? I used the Kalyway before and it worked. I wonder why i'm having a pain in butt with ideneb. Pls advise. zimagold
Hey guys, I'm a noob installing OSX86 for the first time last night. All in all, it went quite well, but there are some problems I hope someone can help me with. My hardware is Gigabyte EP43-UD3L, C2D, HD2400XT. I downloaded and installed XxX 10.5.6 Final. Everything seemed to install okay - I just went with default everything (I think maybe I should've customized it). The system booted up, and I followed some instructions to get the HD2400XT working. After reboot, QE/CE was working and I was pretty happy. But that's when I also realized the system won't boot without the DVD in the tray. No bootable disk error. Does the XxX default installation not install a bootloader? How can I fix this, or should I just reinstall and choose "customize"? Can anyone point me to an XxX 10.5.6 install guide? Built-in ethernet works. But no audio device. How do I install the kext for the audio? Also, sleep and shutdown doesn't work. When I select shutdown, everything closes, but it gets stuck on the desktop picture. When I select sleep, everything powers off and it seems to be sleeping, but when I wake it up, it starts from scratch. So if I can fix these 3 things, I'll be really happy: 1) Boot from hard disk without DVD in tray 2) Install audio (ALC888?) 3) Get shutdown/sleep working Thanks in advance.
