usastra
I have installed XxX 10.5.6 with 9.4.0 kernel on the following system: Mobo:Asus P5wdg2 Chipset: Intel 975X Southbridge: Intel ICH7R RAID: Marvell 88SE614x LAN1:Marvell 88E8052 Lan2: Marvell 88E8001 Audio:ADI 1998B Firewire:Texas Instruments Graphics: Nvidia 7300 GT Graphics are working fine but I can't seem to get Lan, Firewire or audio to work. When I select Marvell Skge (LAN) well as ADI1988b_Taruga (audio) for the install, I get Kernel Panics. The same happens if I try to install them afterwards using Pacifist and KextHelper. There's also no additional Kext for Firewire on the install DVD. I have ran Leo4all 10.5.2 before on this system with working firewire and Lan, but if I try to install these Kexts with Pacifist and KextHelper I also get Kernel Panics. Hope someone could guide me with this. Especially the Firewire issue. Gujal
On my Asus P5B, firewire would not work under 10.5.6 until I patched DSDT. get fassl's DSDT patcher and generate the patch file for your motherboard. Once the patch file is put in the root and rebooted, firewire should work. And any reasons for you running 9.4.0? you could run 9.6.0 vanilla or at a worst case 9.5.0 voodoo kernel (with corresponding seatbelt.kext and system.kext) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157786-problems-after-installing-xxx-1056-on-asus-p5wdg2-system/#findComment-1107976 Share on other sites
usastra
I've got audio, ethernet and firewire working now! I booted again from the XXX install disk and only selected the Marvell Skgeduring install. So no base system or kernels selected, as I installed this over my system. Somehow installing the network driver also made my firewire work so I guess they are linked in a way. Did the same thing with the audio driver. For some reason I had to install the drivers one by one. If I selected them both at once I would get errors. btw I'm running 9.4.0 because I had some strange crashes with 9.6.0 and 9.5.0, though I hadn't investigated those crashes yet.
