vlad1966
I have the EP45-DS4P mobo along with an LSI SAS3442E-R SAS/SATA controller. I can use the controller (which is PCIe x8) in my mobos x4 slot no problem, but when I put it in the 2nd x16 slot (x8 electrical) the card isn't recognized by my system. Could it be that this slot is only designed to accept a 2nd graphics card (Crossfire) and nothing else? That would suck, since I bought this mobo with the intention of running another SAS/SATA controller (in addition to the LSI controller in my PCIe x4 slot). Before I bought the mobo, I emailed Gigabyte & they said there should be no problem running a controller instead of a 2nd vid card in this slot. hetman
Could it be that this slot is only designed to accept a 2nd graphics card (Crossfire) and nothing else? I have the board, but not the controller card. I was pretty sure the 2nd slot was only for graphics. I'm surprised they told you otherwise. I hope I'm wrong. Let us know if you get it going.
