Jib51 Posted March 8, 2009 Share Posted March 8, 2009 I've just bought this new mobo GA-EG43M-S2H : http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Mother...?ProductID=2963 With an Intel Quad-Core Q8200, 2GB of Corsair memory, SATA and DVD drives, Nvidia 9600GT. The mobo is based on the new G43 chipset (ICH10). I did not test the onboard graphic card. Everything is working fine with XxX release. The only thing I needed is to set the AHCI mode, otherwise I've got a "still waiting for root device" message at startup (in IDE mode). The sound (ALC888) did not work with drivers on XxX release (old ones or new ones), but I managed to get the sound up (I'll post the link later, I need to look for it). So if people need help with this mobo, please come here ! We could share user experiences ! Mayank Anand Posted October 20, 2009 Share Posted October 20, 2009 Well i have tried installing with my ideb + LawlessPPC + the new snowleopard.......doesnt work...trying Ipc right now .....all of them said "still waiting for root device" with both AHCI settings as well as when its off AHCI. I just wanted to ask you that my DVD is IDE and also have an IDE 120GB HDD + a free SATA HDD for installation but i hope its not asking me for root device just becos i have my DVD as a IDE drive instead of SATA. Is ur DVD SATA?? And even if the DVD is an IDE......cant i install mac on it...... Also which chipset drivers did you exactly install?? Mayank Anand Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 i got myself a SATA DVD drive and walla......typing this on my Hackintosh EG43M-S2H gigabyte system. but i have only 1 issue yet.....i am using a ATI HD4850 card for graphics...and drivers for it havent come out yet.
