jasl8r
So I have installed XCode successfully, and installed darwinports-1.0. Unfortunately port fails to run properly. When I run <port sync> or <port selfupdate> or pretty much any other port command it returns: Failed to initialize ports system, no suitable image found. Did find: /opt/local/share/darwinports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib: unknown file type, first eight bytes: 0xFE 0xED 0xFA 0xCE 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x12 I have searched around for this and I can not find any reference to this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1567-darwinports-fails-to-initialize/ Share on other sites
cyrana
Did you install via the .dmg? If so, you need to install via source. They have instructions how to do this... If you are running from source and this is happening, someone else will have to help as I have no problems running it if I start out by compiling it all (but not everything even compiles on their list).
