Victor Gil
I have installed OS X perfectly in a hard disk and wanted to know if it is possible to install Windows XP in a hard disk aside and not in a partition of the same disc. confusion
Yes, that is the way I currently am running it. Rather than fool around with an OS selector (acronis, grub, etc.), I just change my boot priority when I want to change my OS. TheGreatDeceiver
I have installed OS X perfectly in a hard disk and wanted to know if it is possible to install Windows XP in a hard disk aside and not in a partition of the same disc. that is how I started. I had xp installed on one hd, with additional 2 more disks. i then unplugged my xp disk and installed osx onto one of the other two hdds. once finished I plugged my xp disk back to boot from it. I used F12 boot option switch on my Dell for a while until i read about the chain0 file. you can put that onto your xp drive and add a line into your boot.ini and then you can choose the os in the xp boot loader without using bios or preboot switches. search for chain0 if you decide to do that. Deviant0ne
I went the chain0 route as well, and it works wonders. Very easy! Here's the link I used from the Wiki http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...bootloader_boot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15666-win-xp-and-os-x-on-different-hard-disk/#findComment-102314 Share on other sites
