touche112
Hey guys, I'm trying to install iDeneb 10.5.4 on my computer which has: ASUS M2N4-SLI AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (2.31GHz) 2x 1GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800MHz 2x 1GB OCZ Gold Ed. DDR2 800MHz EVGA GeForce 9600GT SC (512MB, factory overclocked) I have tried installing at least 13 times tonight, can't get the thing to work... The computer either auto-restarts on boot once install is done, or I get a Kernel Panic immediately after Darwin proceeds. I always select the AMD Patch, 512MB Nvidia drivers, AC97 Audio Drivers, Nforce Ethernet, and a few apps, and I have been experimenting with different Kernels and Chipset drivers, because I suspect that is what is causing the errors. Any suggestions for what I should select on install to get this to work correctly? Thanks, Matt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/156598-ideneb-1055-install-on-amd-rig/ Share on other sites

kurogin
I'm having the same problem with my system. The only difference is the motherboard, an M2N68-LA and the RAM branding. I either get the kernel panic or an instant reboot. I'm going to keep trying different patches. If there are any breakthroughs, that would be great. enochpc
Old post, but I thought I would give some suggestions. I have iDeneb 1.4 10.5.6 running on this mobo. Onboard LAN doesn't work and ps2 only get's you a kp, but it works. I used another machine to install on a usb with the correct drivers (nForce kext and voodoo kernel) and then booted from the M2N4 machine. Carbon Copy cloner to put on the machines hard drive and you are good to go. I had a Realtek 8139 ethernet card kicking around that I put in and iDeneb has a kext for the audio (alc850). Works good. I also have Hazard Snow leopard running as 10.6, no sound but ethernet works for that distro. I am working on a guide for both, hopefully will have it soon, just working out the kinks on the update path, keep killing my installs trying to update to 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/156598-ideneb-1055-install-on-amd-rig/#findComment-1519928 Share on other sites
