samjoandco Posted March 6, 2009 Share Posted March 6, 2009 sorry for double posting but I hope someone can help me out here I have installed OS-X on Compaq NC6000 using JAS 10.5.4 and I can boot after waiting for 15 minutes using -f -v option. However I am stuck on two issues. I am a completely newb to OS-X /Apple OS so please be patient with me. 1> I cannot for my life get the WI-FI working. I have downloaded, renamed and copied IO80211Family.kext.zip . It finds access points to connect and asks for WEP key. As soon as I enter the KEY and hit submit the system freezes completely. i think its kernel panic. This happens randomly on any network configuration options. ---update-- 03/02/2009---- On start up using -f -v It now gets stuck on this line.... 11D beacon causing regdomain change to CC 840 en0: 802.11d country code set to 'US'. en0: Supported channels 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 36 40 44 48 52 56 60 64 149 153 157 161 165 --------------End----- looks like it connects but causes kernel panic after that. 2> I cannot get the track pad or laptop keyboard working. I suggest you to download OSX86Tools, then choose 'Install Kext' and choose AppleACPIPS2Nub_b5/build/release/AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext .
