dualhead
I've bought a new mobo from XFX but I'm still unable to install OSX. I'm using a Core 2 quad 9400 and the onboard video. First of all, it's an "only sata" mobo. ASUS and other brands install the IDE conector, but XFX doesn't, just 6 sata 2 ports plus an e-sata in the backplate. The controller has 3 different sata options in the bios menu: IDE, AHCI and RAID The iDeneb (or any other OSX distro I've tried to install) DVD only works with the AHCI option. I've tried the voodoo, 9.5.0 (v1.3) and the 9.6.0 (v1.4) kernells without luck, but I manage to complete the install process, only after reboot it freezes after telling that "MAC framework successfully initialized". This mobo has 2 sata controllers: the nVidia chipset controls the 4 initial ports and the JMicron controls the last 2 plus the e-sata. I've already tried using only the nVidia (which should be the responsible for ports 1 & 2 where I connected the HD and DVD-RW), only the JMicron and both kexts - no luck! For audio, video and ethernet I used only 1 kext for each, no messing around with these. I also tried many combinations of patches but the result is allways the same: freezes after reboot! Anyone have successfully installed OSX in a mobo with this chipset? Any help?
