cj95 Posted March 5, 2009 Share Posted March 5, 2009 installed efi string for 9600gt and osx doesn load on boot, i get a black screen iPC 10.5.6 universal final mobo= 4coredual-sata2 pny 9600gt pentium 4 3.4 ghz 650 prescott ht 3 gig ddr2 ram sata hdd ps2 keyboard usb mouse any help? cj95 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Share Posted March 6, 2009 so i searched ocspd and is indeed efi string related. and re entering the efi string may fix it. but the problem is that i can't boot into osx . same thing happens even on safe mode. so any ideas??? Synaesthesia Posted March 6, 2009 Share Posted March 6, 2009 OK 1. Boot up into single user mode with -s 2. At the prompt type: mount -uw / 3. Now type "nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist" 4. Remove the EFI string (it's at the bottom) 5. Hit ctrl-x to save, push enter twice to confirm.
