Adventus
So, I tried to update my 5.2 to 5.6, since I was having many issues with my wireless card, hearing that this update would fix it. Unfortunately, halfway through installing the update, I get the 4-language crash message saying I need to restart. I do, and can no longer boot into OSX without getting that error. I'm running Kalyway (I think), or more specifically, ToHLeox86. Would a complete reinstall of my Mac drive be in order? Also, if you could make your response in noob-speak, I'd appreciate it, since I have little idea of what I'm doing here. I have a separate hard drive for this Mac install, and an Intel processor. Thanks muchly for the help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/155839-1052-to-1056-update-crash/ Share on other sites

CaptainJack
I am not sure if you are aware but you can make a list of your specs and put it in your signature. I am going to have to agree with everyone else, you will need to do a clean install. Before going that route, I would see if you could get a copy of XxX or iPC 10.5.6 and do a clean install using one of those distros (or others that I am not aware of). Just an FYI, I have had absolutely no luck doing an update from 10.5.2-10.5.6 or from 10.5.4-10.5.6. What kind of issues were you experiencing with your wireless card and what kind of card do you have?
