Torretto
I have tried Shades, but it doesn't actually dim the screen, just puts a dark overlay over it, and so doesn't increase battery life at all Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/155363-dim-laptop-display-on-battery/#findComment-1100315 Share on other sites

josephien
well there is a osx feature in leopard too (do you have a battery indicator?) go to system preferences - > Energy saver - > select settings for battery - > next to the sleep tab select options and there you'll see "SLightly dim the display using this power source" greetz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/155363-dim-laptop-display-on-battery/#findComment-1146632 Share on other sites
Torretto
Thanks for the replies but here's the problem i have the battery meter, but in energy saver there is no option for slightly dim the screen using this power source. Also there is no bios option for this, and i can set it manually using keyboard shortcuts, but that is really annoying. Is there no other way?
