Hey all, maybe someone can give me a hand. I couldn't get 10.4.4 running native on my machine, so I'm trying the evaluation version of VMWare w/ the same DVD (pre-patched, I assume).

I get through the primary installation of the OS, but then when it reboots after installing, I get nothing but the cursor (in the image, you can see it in the VMWare window). This is immediately after the VMWare Bios boots up. I never get the Darwin startup (so I can't get -v diagnostics)...

I think this is identical to my prob running it native as well... (not being able to boot the actual OS).

My Syspecs are as follows:

Pentium D 2.8gHz (OCed to 3.2gHz usually, but not right now I don't think)

Windows XP Pro

VMWare Workstation (evaluation)

1GB Corsair Ram

Asus P5LD2-Deluxe Mobo

Nvidia 6600GT

Anyway, thanks ahead of time to anyone who can help!

i have the same problem, i can help you a little. You can boot from the cd, press f8, type rd=disk0s2 (if it is the first disk) or rd=disk1s2 (if second). If you are unsure what disk it is, you can just try the "trial and error method"

So you can now get into macosx, its just a matter of trying to get it to boot properly. From what i can gather it has something to do with th emaster boot record, and think it is something to do with the version 10.4.4, and also believe it could be a currupt disk utility, or somewhere during the install.

If you learn how to fix this, or if anyone else knows, please let me know, PM me or tell me over msn (twigg1@gmail.com)

Cheers
