Smurfette
Hi Just bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard and trying to connect it to my Sony Vaio; it wont let me pair it because it needs a "passkey" (which apparently automatically appears on screen if you have a Mac). I've called Apple who said the keyboard isn't compatible (which contradicts discussions on this site!). Does anyone know where I can find this passkey or a way round it? Bluetooth can see the keyboard but wont connect without this code... many thanks Smurfette Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153536-apple-wireless-keyboard-to-sony-vaio/ Share on other sites
chinmay007
try putting a passkey on your computer screen first and repeat the same passkey and press enter on apple wireless keyboard. it should not be a problem, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153536-apple-wireless-keyboard-to-sony-vaio/#findComment-1083731 Share on other sites

mrbonkers
try 0000 as the passcode Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153536-apple-wireless-keyboard-to-sony-vaio/#findComment-1091085 Share on other sites
markothecro
Right, 0000 is usually assigned by most bluetooth device manufacturers as the default key. In vista when you go to set up a new bluetooth device, select something along the lines of "choose passkey set by device manufacturer" and enter 0000. Berzerker
For the wireless Apple keyboard, eight zeros (00000000) works better than four. No idea why, but that's how it did it for me.
