Chaotik
Hi everybody... Here's my hardware setup: Mobo: Asus P4C800 CPU: P4 HT 3.2 Ghz Prescott Mem: 2gb RAM HD: 200GB IDE DVD-ROM: IDE Graphic card: NVidia GeForce 7800GS 256mb AGP Audio + Network: On-board I have tried the following distros: iDeneb, iPC, Kalyway and iATKOS They all behave differently. Kalyway: Unable to get to the install screens. It boots on the DVD and quickly reboots the PC in a loop. Unable to see the message. It happens too fast. iPC: Kernel Panic right from the start after booting from the DVD. I get the grey screen with the Apple logo and I get a kernel panic. iATKOS: iATKOS boots from the DVD well but eventually shows me the big restart symbol before even installing anything. And when I restart, it boots from the DVD again and brings me right back to the same spot. iDeneb: This looks like the best distro for me. I am consistently able to perform a complete install. I don't get the big green check mark though. But I do get to what looks like an error free install and it asks be to restart which I do after removing the DVD. However, during the reboot it also hits an error which I can't read because it's too fast and than reboots (much like Kalyway only Kalyway doesn't even get me to the install screens). I tried all 4 different kernels listed on the iDeneb DVD and I always get the same behavior... Anyone can help ? I'm running out of options! boba899
You're hardware looks similar in age to mine. I used to get kernel panics using iPC as well until I specified the rd=diskXsY option in the Darwin prompt when booting the DVD.
