guangjin
Hello, I'm a newbie on Mac Os X 10.5.6. I don't know how installing a program that I downloaded by Safari, for example, Firefox 3.0.6. When it's finishing download, it's verifying a file image and mount it. After, the system forces me to reboot my computer by pressing the reset button. After rebooting, i don't see where Firefox could be installed. I think it doesn't install at all. I'm searching in application folders, anywhere but i don't find the firefow icone. I tried with several programs, same situation happened, it mounts image file and force me to reboot my computer. Could you help me ? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/152541-how-install-a-program-on-mac-os-x/ Share on other sites
SpeedfreaK
when you mount the disk image, you just have to drag the new program to your applications folder and it's installed. you don't have to reset it or whatever (when the computer asks you to reset it, i think you got a kernel panic (is it like this: http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/showcase/d..._Panic-1p0f.png ?))
