Problems with Sound (IDT HD Audio), Network (Intel PRO/100 VE) and Video (9600GT)

Hey guys,

After much deliberation to my excitement I finally got OSX up and running on my PC. My joy was quickly quashed when I realised there was no sound/no working ethernet and im maxed out to 1024 for my graphics resolution.

after alot of googling and fiddling with kext files, Ive gotten absoloutely nowhere and I was just hoping maybe someone could point me in the right direction.

My Sound and Network Cards are onboard and are an IDT HD Audio Chipset and a Intel PRO/100 VE NIC, respectively. My graphics card is a NVIDIA 9600GT - which I thought would probably work ok, seeing as I ticked 'install NVidia drivers', during the setup but alas Im stuck at 1024. Oh and I have dual widescreen monitors so I was hoping for some kind of dual screen support but im not holding my breath or anything.

Anywho if I could just get my sound/network and graphics working I will be a happy chappy and as I said before was just hoping someone could direct me to some required reading or offer some helpful advice as Ive really gotten no where in the last few hours trying to fix this {censored} on my own/googling.

much thanks in advance,

J

Hi jhanbero i have an hp laptop with similar configuration and i had the same problems as you. I get dual screen, wifi and sound working with ideneb 10.5. If you give me some e-mail i can send the kexts to you

thanks guys, much appreciated,

i tried the kexts soyara gave me but they stopped OSX from booting (lol). it just comes up with You m ust restart or power off, everytime i boot into it at the apple logo. All good though I appreciate your good intentions.

Will reinstall and try Nicks suggestions

thanks again.
